Cornell University and Cornell Research Foundation Incorporated have filed two lawsuits, one against each of AT&T (AT&T Mobility) (2:25-cv-00054) and Verizon (Verizon Wireless) (2:25-cv-00055). In the new Eastern District of Texas complaints, the university plaintiffs target the provision of “Wi-Fi 5 (and later) enabled downlink and Wi-Fi 6 (and later) enabled uplink products, including Wi-Fi routers, access points, smartphones, and related products and services”. Exemplary accused products include the defendants’ respective Internet-related services and products, as well as certain Alphabet (Google), Apple, and Motorola-branded smartphones and tablets.
