Resonant Systems, Inc. (d/b/a RevelHMI) has sued Meta Platforms (7:25-cv-00035) in the Western District of Texas and Nintendo (2:25-cv-00090) in the Eastern District of Texas, over the use of haptics within the Meta Quest 3 headset and Nintendo Switch gaming console, respectively. Apple is already a West Texas defendant in this campaign; Samsung and Sony, East Texas defendants, although RevelHMI and Sony appear on the verge of ending their dispute. A new schedule is under consideration in the Samsung case, after mixed results from certain inter partes review (IPR) proceedings, and Apple has moved to compel arbitration, arguing that recent, broader discovery revealed that RevelHMI earlier, during venue-related discovery, concealed contacts with the Northern District of California, the exact nature of which has been redacted from public view.
