Last month, Estech Systems IP LLC sued United Web (Nextiva) (3:25-cv-00299) in the Northern District of Texas, following that suit with cases this month against Panasonic (2:25-cv-00258) in the Eastern District of Texas and VTech (1:25-cv-00333) in the Western District of Texas. The asserted patents broadly concern various aspects of Voice over IP (VoIP), including call quality monitoring, voicemail systems, and phone directories. Estech Systems IP, a Texas entity itself, moved to proceed without local counsel, as required; that motion, as is routine, was denied. Charhon Callahan Robson & Garza, PLLC has since made an appearance but has yet to correct the plaintiff’s failure to comply with the local rule there imposing heightened disclosure on litigants.
