Four Nonparties, Including Two Tied to IV, Have Apparently Lost Interest in the Litigation of CommWorks
Broadcom (2:25-cv-02998) is the latest defendant to be added to CommWorks Solutions, LLC’s litigation campaign over wireless communications patents received from Intellectual Ventures LLC (IV). In the new Central District of California complaint, the plaintiff targets the provision of Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), devices, and/or software that support (X)G(S)-PON broadband communications technology, IEEE 802.11-2007+, Wi-Fi Multimedia, and Wi-Fi Protected Setup. CommWorks has previously disclosed multiple entities as nonparties with an interest in the outcome of its cases in the same district, but, in connection with its new complaint, the plaintiff certifies—via a document signed by Steven W. Ritcheson of Insight, PLC, over a signature block that identifies Rozier Hardt McDonough PLLC as counsel—that there are no longer any such parties.
