Freedom Patents Has Trapped Its Thirtieth Defendant

With separate Eastern District of Texas complaints filed against Broadcom (4:25-cv-00424), MediaTek (4:25-cv-00425), Realtek Semiconductor (4:25-cv-00426), and Renesas Electronics (4:25-cv-00428), Freedom Patents LLC has now sued 30 defendants in a campaign over three former Mitsubishi Electric (MELCO) patents. The plaintiff targets the provision of yet more devices—including Wi-Fi chipsets, Wi-Fi adapters/cards, combo Wi-Fi/Bluetooth chipsets, and/or Wi-Fi systems-on-chip—that comply with the IEEE 802.11ax-2021 standard and implement MIMO Wi-Fi functionality.
