Nanoco Resumes Quantum Dots Campaign
Publicly traded Nanoco Technologies Limited has filed a second case over its portfolio of quantum dots patents. In February 2020, the plaintiff targeted Samsung with five of those patents in the US, with litigation also proceeding in China and Germany, that set of disputes settling in February 2023 for $150M. Now, Nanoco has accused LG Electronics (LGE) (2:25-cv-00431) of infringing four of the same patents asserted against Samsung through the provision of “products (e.g., TVs, monitors, laptops, tablets, mobile phones) comprising Quantum Dots” (i.e., those with displays using quantum dots), including products sold under its QNED brand.
