Acacia Research Sues HPE in Its Wi-Fi 6 Campaign, Having Recently Acquired a Portfolio of “Wi-Fi 7 Standard Essential Patents” from the Same Source

May 17, 2025

Atlas Global Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of publicly traded Acacia Research Corporation, has added an Eastern District of Texas suit against HP Enterprise (HPE) (2:25-cv-00534) to its litigation targeting the provision of certain Wi-Fi 6-compliant devices with a portfolio of former NEWRACOM patents. In the other active case in this campaign, against Vantiva, Western District of Texas Judge Alan D. Albright just handed down a claim construction order, leaving six terms to an unspecified plain and ordinary meaning after turning away indefiniteness challenges to each. Briefing of an appeal to the Federal Circuit of an Eastern District of Texas judgment based on a nearly $37.5M verdict, returned last fall against Lianzhou Technologies (f/k/a TP-Link Technologies) and TP-Link Corporation (f/k/a TP-Link International), is also underway.
