NovaCloud Licensing Files Its First Suit, Hitting Meta in Delaware

May 31, 2025

NovaCloud Licensing LLC has filed a District of Delaware complaint against Meta Platforms (1:25-cv-00674), asserting five of the more than 50 patents that the now-plaintiff received from Ericsson in April 2024. Per NovaCloud, “Generally, the Accused Infrastructure and Services for the Asserted Patents include Meta’s datacenter and network infrastructure and video streaming services”. Last month, RPX noted that the plaintiff had recorded security interests in its received assets, one back to Ericsson itself, dated on April 8, 2024, and an April 18, 2025 one to an entity that appears to be tied to a prominent IP monetization backer.
