Booking Holdings Hit for a Third Time in Cedar Lane’s Long-Running Campaign

June 24, 2025

In March 2021, Cedar Lane Technologies Inc. filed its first suit against Booking Holdings in the Western District of Texas. That case was voluntarily dismissed (without prejudice) before the defendant filed a response. Four years later, in March 2025, Cedar Lane filed a second suit against Booking Holdings, again in West Texas and over the same patent. Despite the parties having stipulated to dismissal (albeit without prejudice) prior to any substantive litigation there, Cedar Lane has now filed a third case against Booking Holdings, this time against its subsidiary Momondo (2:25-cv-00641) in the Eastern District of Texas. At issue is the same data retrieval and display patent, with the defendant accused of infringement through the support of certain map-based search features in its “web-based hotel booking” service.
