Trio of Complaints Targets Nearby “Event” Recommendations
Inventor-controlled Joto, Inc. has filed its first litigation, suing Crate & Barrel (Euromarket Designs) (2:25-cv-00754), TicketCenter.com (2:25-cv-00755), and Vinted (2:25-cv-00756) in separate Eastern District of Texas complaints. Joto asserts a single patent generally related to providing users with recommendations for events based on a determined relevancy factor. At issue are features for showing recommended items for sale (Crate & Barrel and Vinted), showing recommended events near the user’s location (TicketCenter.com), and providing targeted advertising (Crate & Barrel and TicketCenter.com).
