Second Spell Cast in Mobile Check Deposit Campaign

CheckWizard LLC has filed a second round in its campaign targeting mobile check depositing within banking apps. The new defendants are Banc of California (2:25-cv-00827), BOKF (2:25-cv-00828), JPMorganChase (2:25-cv-00829), and Spend Life Wisely (American National Bank of Texas) (2:25-cv-00826), each sued in the Eastern District of Texas. Litigation against the prior defendants—Bank of America, H&R Block, Hilltop Holdings (PlainsCapital Bank), Independent Bank Group, Regions Financial (Regions Bank), Washington Federal Bank, and WoodForest Financial Group—ended relatively quickly.
