Headwater Floods the Courts

Headwater Research LLC has filed multiple suits against existing defendants Alphabet (Google) (seven of them), Amazon (one), and Apple (six) as well as against new defendants Charter Communications (five), Comcast (five), and Echostar (DISH Network) (five). The plaintiff targets a wide array of products and services ranging from mobile virtual network operators and messaging systems to smartphones and vehicle infotainment systems. At issue is an equally wide range of features related to networking, notifications, wireless communications, and more. Scheduled trials against AT&T (AT&T Mobility), Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile), and Verizon (Verizon Wireless) have been taken off calendar in light of filed notices of settlement; two earlier Texas juries returned verdicts in favor of Headwater, one against Samsung and the other against Verizon.
