EasyWeb Faces Alice Motion in West Texas
September 16, 2025
More than a decade after it first sued X, back when it was known as Twitter, EasyWeb Innovations, LLC has done it again (1:25-cv-01503). In the Western District of Texas complaint, the inventor-controlled plaintiff asserts the seventh issued patent in a family previously gutted by Alice. With it, EasyWeb targets a feature allowing a user to select between a standard username and password security scheme or two-factor authentication to access an account on X. The complaint recounts that the patent was issued over a patent eligibility rejection during prosecution.
