August 9, 2011- Reuters reports that LG Display plans a $2.83 billion investment in organic electroluminescence (OEL) technology. OEL displays are expected to replace LCD technology in the future. According to the report, Samsung (the leader in the flat-panel display market) and LG are the only two companies currently developing the technology.
