Reigntek IP LLC, a possible affiliate of IP Edge LLC, has added Vivint (4:18-cv-00895) and Wowza Media Systems (1:18-cv-02798) to the campaign it began in September. The NPE's first wave of cases targeted BitTorrent (3:18-cv-05634), Microsoft (5:18-cv-00112), and Spotify (5:18-cv-05633) over the provision of various services that utilize peer-to-peer (P2P) networking, alleging infringement of a single patent; those cases remain in initial pleadings. Both new complaints assert that same patent, with Vivint accused of infringement through the provision of the Smart Drive, a Wi-Fi-enabled storage device for home video surveillance footage that offers remote access and playback, and Wowza through its P2P video streaming platform.
