American Patents LLC has opened up a second campaign with more of the patents acquired from Intellectual Ventures LLC (IV) this past June. The NPE sued, in a single complaint, Broadcom, Lenovo, MediaTek, NXP Semiconductor, and Qualcomm (6:18-cv-00339), accusing the defendants of infringing four related patents through the provision of various chipsets built around certain ARM core processors, as well as devices that include those chipsets. The patents broadly concern “on-chip service” that embeds testing circuitry inside an integrated circuit.
