Apparent Funding in Hand, SpaceTime3D Resumes “3D” Search Results Campaign

Just shy of one year from the dismissal of its first case, against Samsung, SpaceTime3D, Inc. has sued Apple (6:22-cv-00149) and LG Electronics (LGE) (2:22-cv-00049) over the same three patents. Those patents generally relate to displaying search results on a certain graphical user interface (GUI), with infringement allegations targeting the provision of certain GUI features within “ultra-mobile personal computer (‘UMPC’) devices”: for Apple, over certain iPhones, iPod touches, iPads, and Apple Watches; and for LGE, over smartphones and tablets running Google’s Android OS 5 through 8. Public records suggest that SpaceTime3D has secured the backing of a litigation funder.
