Smart Path Tags Nokia with Former Orckit-Corrigent Patents

Smart Path Connections LLC has returned to litigation, suing Nokia (2:22-cv-00296) over four networking patents that it asserted against ADTRAN and Juniper Networks in short-lived Western District of Texas cases filed and dismissed last year. The new suit has been filed in the Eastern District of Texas and targets the provision of “telecommunications equipment”, including the 7705 Service Aggregation Router and 7405 Ethernet Service Switch.

ADTRAN and Juniper Networks Targeted in More Litigation over Former Corrigent Patents

Smart Path Connections LLC has kicked off its first litigation campaign, suing ADTRAN (6:21-cv-00326) and Juniper Networks (6:21-cv-00328) over the provision of “telecommunications equipment” (respectively naming the Juniper Networks MX5 Universal Routing Platform, RFC 4090 reroute extension, and EX4600 ethernet switch; and the ADTRAN Total Access 5000 and NetVanta 1544 and 1638P-series switches). The two defendants will likely be familiar with the original source of the five networking patents asserted across the new complaints, given that the same two companies were sued last July by NPE Correct Transmission LLC over patents of parallel pedigree.
