Tyche Licensing’s First Suits Coil Around Long Lists of “Symmetric Inductors”

Last month, RPX covered the movement of more patents from Intellectual Ventures LLC (IV) to two subsidiaries of publicly traded NPE Quest Patent Research Corporation (QPRC), noting that neither of the recipients had filed suit at that point. Now, one has. Tyche Licensing LLC just filed a set of Eastern District of Texas complaints asserting two of its received assets—both generally related to forming an inductive circuit element—against each of Infineon (2:22-cv-00147), MediaTek (2:22-cv-00148), Realtek Semiconductor (2:22-cv-00149), STMicro (2:22-cv-00150), and Texas Instruments (2:22-cv-00151). The accused products comprise a long list of parts that Tyche Licensing characterizes as “devices containing integrated circuits with symmetric inductors”.

More IV Patents Enter QPRC’s Pipeline

USPTO records indicate that publicly traded NPE Quest Patent Research Corporation (QPRC) has returned to a familiar well for patents, having received multiple assignments in January from Intellectual Ventures LLC (IV)—a combined portfolio from which it has since moved patents to a pair of recently formed Texas NPEs in presumed preparation for assertion.
