New Patent Litigation

Better Browsing Targets Web Browser Tools in New Pair of Complaints
New Patent Litigation
Acer (2:23-cv-00567) and Toshiba (2:23-cv-00571) are the latest defendants to be sued in the litigation campaign that Better Browsing LLC launched early this past January with a suit against Opera Norway. Two patents, among three assigned to Better Browsing by Texas monetization firm Empire IP LLC on January 3, 2023, are asserted in each complaint. The defendants are accused of infringement over the provision of Chromebooks and laptops that are preinstalled with the Google Chrome and/or Microsoft Edge web browsers, with features for “group bookmarking and web page zooming” at issue.
