Yillio Files Second Case over “Route-Based Advertising” Patents

In a new Northern District of Texas complaint, Yillio, Inc. has accused Uber (3:24-cv-01178) of infringing three patents through the provision of location-based advertisement features within its ridesharing and food delivery platforms. Three patents generally related to providing advertisements based on “geographic proximity to the route identified by the user” are in suit. In a prior case, Western District of Texas Judge Alan D. Albright denied a motion challenging Yillio’s standing to sue over two of them, characterizing one argument from prior defendant Mapme as relating to validity, not standing, and therefore as premature at the motion to dismiss stage.
