Yet More Former Orckit Patents Asserted Against Cisco

In an Eastern District of Texas complaint, Quicker Connections LLC accuses Cisco (2:24-cv-01074) of infringing six patents that originated with Orckit, but the plaintiff only follows up with formal accusations related to five of those six patents. Targeted is the provision of “high-speed networking platforms”, including the Cisco Network Convergence system; the Cisco ONS Multiservice Switching Platform and Cisco Catalyst Passive Optical Network; and related hardware and software products. Cisco has been sued multiple times, by various plaintiffs, over former patents from this same source.

Another Plaintiff Begins Litigating Multiply Split Portfolio

Delaware plaintiff Portsmouth Network Corporation has filed separate suits against Cisco (2:23-cv-00441) in the Eastern District of Texas and Juniper Networks (1:23-cv-12201) in the District of Massachusetts. The cases target the provision of certain networking devices with subsets of four patents received by Portsmouth Network this past July from an original source that will be familiar to both Cisco and Juniper.
