FlatWorld Sues LGE over Displays
Flatworld Interactives LLC filed suit (1:12-cv-00964) against LG Electronics, alleging that LGE’s smartphones and tablets infringe a single patent (RE,43,318) generally related to manipulation of an image on a display. Flatworld has filed two prior suits since April 2012 against Apple and Samsung. According to the complaint, Flatworld was formed in January 2007 for the purpose of promoting and commercializing the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Flatworld by inventor Milekic Slavoljub in October 2011. The patent-in-suit was reissued in April 2012. 7/20, District of Delaware.

Flatworld Interactives LLC filed suit (1:12-cv-00804) against Samsung, alleging that Samsung’s smartphones, tablets, and media players infringe a patent (RE,43,318) generally related to manipulation of an image on a display. Flatworld has filed one prior suit since April 2012 against Apple. According to the complaint, Flatworld was formed in January 2007 for the purpose of promoting and commercializing the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Flatworld by inventor Milekic Slavoljub in October 2011. The patent-in-suit was reissued in April 2012. 6/22, District of Delaware.

New NPE Sues Apple over Displays
Flatworld Interactives LLC filed suit (3:12-cv-01956) against Apple, alleging that Apple’s iPhones, iPads, iPods, and laptops infringe a patent (RE,43,318) generally related to manipulating an image on a display. This suit is the first initiated by Flatworld. According to the complaint, Flatworld was formed in January 2007 for the purpose of promoting and commercializing the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Flatworld by inventor Milekic Slavoljub in October 2011. The patent-in-suit was reissued in April 2012. 4/19, Northern District of California.
