Nonend Adds 17 Companies to Its Streaming Media Campaign
Dutch NPE Nonend Inventions N.V. filed its second wave of suits in a month, this time hitting 17 electronics manufacturers and wireless carriers in a single day. Defendants include Acer, Amazon, BlackBerry, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, NEC, Panasonic, Sharp, Sony, and Toshiba. The complaints assert different combinations of a group of homegrown, streaming media patents (7,590,752, 7,779,138, 8,090,862, 8,099,513) and focus on devices with streaming capabilities, including smartphones and tablets. Wireless carriers that sell the accused products, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, are also named as defendants.

Nonend Inventions Greatly Expands Campaign with Nine New Suits
Almost a year after its last litigation concluded, Nonend Inventions N.V. filed its largest round of litigation to date, suing Apple, Dell, HTC, Huawei, LGE, Microsoft, Motorola Mobility, Samsung, and ZTE. The suits assert a patent that concerns receiving streaming media and playing it in real time (8,090,862). Devices with streaming capabilities, including smartphones and tablets, are accused of infringement.
