The sole asserted patent generally relates to loss prevention software for a mobile device, with the new complaint targeting the provision of various Fitbit, Pixel, and Nexus smartphones and smart watches over their use of the Find My Device app. Recent cases over the same patent, filed separately against Apple and Samsung, have already concluded.

Named inventor Richard Abramson has accused Samsung (5:22-cv-06064) of infringing a single patent through the provision of a wide array of devices, including Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and wearables that support Android 8 or later, or Galaxy Watches that support Tizen 5.5. The patent generally relates to a system for alerting users of a mobile device when they have moved a certain distance away from another device. Along with a few other filing missteps, the plaintiff has yet to file a certificate of interested parties, as required by the Northern District of California.
