More Types of Consumer Electronics Added to Campaign by Perez’s Z-Dimensional
Z-Dimensional’s ongoing campaign continues to target consumer electronics, moving from gaming systems in its original suits to cameras in its February litigation and now to camcorders in its most recent filings. The two suits, one filed against JVC Americas and the other against Hammacher Schlemmer, assert a single patent related to dual image sensor processing (7,729,530). The patent-in-suit was issued to an individual inventor, assigned to Intelleq Holdings in August 2013, and then transferred to Z-Dimensional one month later. The entity is run by Daniel Perez, an individual who has been linked to other NPEs including Elia Data and IOdapt. Z-Dimensional has filed more than ten suits since it began litigating the ‘530 patent in December 2013. The asserted patent is the only one Z-Dimensional has used in suit. RPX reviewed it in two separate open market opportunities, in June 2010 and then February 2013. 4/14, Eastern District of Texas, 2:14cv00308, 2:14cv00309
