New HP Clients Targeted by Acacia’s Printer Template Campaign
Acacia Research subsidiary Industrial Print Technologies LLC (IPT) is expanding its litigation campaign, targeting Hewlett-Packard along with four its clients: Cenveo, Fort Dearborn, Quad/Graphics, and Vistaprint. HP Printers at Issue in New Suit by Acacia Sub
HP and its customer, O’Neil Data Systems, are the subjects of a new suit filed by Acacia Research subsidiary Industrial Print Technologies (IPT). The defendants were previously sued by IPT in January 2014. The newly filed case asserts two patents that were not asserted in the earlier litigation against HP (6,145,946, 6,493,106). The patents-in-suit relate to managing a plurality of ink jet print heads and synchronizing pixels for printing, respectively. High speed industrial inkjet printers manufactured by HP and used by O’Neil are accused of infringing the asserted patents. IPT previously asserted the patents-in-suit against Canon in a suit filed in January 2014. Both of IPT’s earlier suits remain active.
