Inventor Quick to Add Recently Issued Patents to His Location-based Services Campaign
Following a short-lived case against BlackBerry, inventor-controlled NPE Lance Parker IP, LLC has filed two infringement suits against Apple (6:15-cv-00893) and Samsung (6:15-cv-00894). The complaints assert three patents and focus on the companies’ smartphones with applications that determine the geographic location of a device and remotely send commands to them. One of the asserted patents generally relates to location-based services for mobile devices (8,494,560), while the other two patents concern remote control of mobile devices (9,143,923, 9,143,934). The ‘923 and ‘934 patents are divisionals of the ‘560 patent and were issued to Parker just last month.
