PaymentOne Sues Home Depot for Use of PayPal
PaymentOne filed suit against Home Depot, alleging that the defendant has actively induced infringement of three patents by providing to its customers with the PayPal In-Store Checkout System as an option of payment. The three patents-in-suit relate to processing mobile transactions and validating subscriber lines (7,848,500, 7,848,504, 8,379,815). PaymentOne filed a prior suit against PayPal and Zong in May 2011. Zong was terminated as a defendant in May 2012, but the case remains pending and is currently in claim construction. PaymentOne is the original assignee for all three of the patents-in-suit, which were issued between December 7, 2010 and February 19, 2013. 3/7, Northern District of California, 3:13cv00993.
