Campaign Against Multi-display Computer Systems Expands with Six New Suits
Mass Engineered Design is asserting two patents (RE36,978, 8,462,103) in its most recent group of litigations against Dell, ErgoTech Group, Herman Miller, ISE, Planar Systems, and Spaceco Business Solutions. Defendants all make or sell multi-display monitor systems that are accused of infringing the asserted patents. The patents-in-suit relate to a dual computer display system but only the ‘978 patent has been used in Mass Engineered’s previous suits. It was the subject of a reexamination that concluded in 2011 with all claims confirmed and 20 new claims added. The complaint states that Mass Engineered is the exclusive licensee of the two patents-in-suit and assignment data indicate that the patents are owned by one of the inventors. 5/5, Eastern District of Texas, 6:14cv00409, 6:14cv00411, 6:14cv00412, 6:14cv00413, 6:14cv00414, 5/6, Eastern District of Texas, 6:14cv00431
