Acacia Subsidiary Settles with Infortrend
June 22, 2012 – Acacia Research announced that its subsidiary, Summit Data Systems (SDS), entered into a settlement agreement with Infortrend. In September 2010, SDS filed suit against Buffalo Technology, D-Link, EMC, Fujitsu, HDS, Infortrend, NetApp, Netgear, and Qnap, alleging that the defendants’ network storage products infringe two patents related to a system architecture for providing block-level access to storage resources. In June 2010, RPX acquired pre-litigation sublicense rights to the SDS patents for existing clients. SDS reported settlements with D-Link, Buffalo Technology, and HDS in January and February 2012.
