Inventor Targets Microsoft After Conclusion of Previous Campaign
Inventor Craig Thorner filed his second suit against Microsoft, asserting a patent that he has not previously used in litigation (8,834,266). The patent-in-suit, which issued on the same that the case was filed, relates to a hand-held controller that provides vibratory tactile feedback to a user. A similar patent was asserted in Thorner’s previous suit against Microsoft, filed in May 2013; that case is still ongoing. As in the previous suit, Microsoft’s Xbox controllers and console are accused of infringing the asserted patent that names Thorner as an inventor.
