In Parental Controls Campaign, Kajeet Again Asserts Patent Twice Surviving Early Alice Challenges
New Patent Litigation
Kajeet, Inc. has again expanded its litigation over parental controls, accusing Trend Micro (6:21-cv-00389) of infringement through the provision of various software products, including the Trend Micro Premium Security Suite, Maximum Security, Internet Security, Mobile Security, and other products that “include Trend Micro’s parental control features”. Kajeet’s Parental Controls Litigation Snags NortonLifeLock
New Patent Litigation
Kajeet, a company offering “software and hardware solutions promoting safe use of mobile devices by children both at home and in schools and libraries”, has sued Broadcom (NortonLifeLock) (1:20-cv-01339) in the District of Delaware over a single patent generally related to allowing “functions on a communication network” of a device based on the response of a remote “administrator” device. The plaintiff’s infringement allegations target the provision of Norton security software products, including “all versions of the Norton Family, Norton 360 Deluxe, Norton 360 Premium, Norton 360 with LifeLock Select, and Norton 360 with LifeLock Ultimate Plus products as well as all versions of the Norton Family app, Norton Family for Parents app, and Norton Family parental control app”. Claims from other patents in the asserted 32-member family have been invalidated under Alice in earlier cases in Kajeet’s litigation.
