Citrix Prevails in Trial over Remote Access Patent
Following a seven-day trial, a jury in the Northern District of Ohio found on January 19, 2016 that Citrix did not infringe a single patent (6,928,479) generally related to the remote access of a personal computer. 01 Communique Laboratory, Inc. (01), a Canadian operating company that sells a competing suite of remote access services, alleged in its February 2006 suit (1:06-cv-00253) that Citrix had infringed claims 24 and 45 of the ‘479 patent through its GoToMyPC service. However, the jury sided with Citrix, concluding that its product did not directly or indirectly infringe the asserted claims of the patent-in-suit. The jury also found those claims not invalid due to anticipation, obviousness, lack of adequate written description, or lack of enablement.
