Inventor’s First Patent Suit Focuses on Audio, Video, and Web Conferencing Services
Individual inventor Keith Raniere filed suit against AT&T and Microsoft, alleging the companies’ unified conferencing systems infringe a group of five patents. Raniere is a named inventor on all of the patents-in-suit, which relate to a teleconferencing system adapted for simultaneous voice conferencing with viewing of data objects (6,373,936, 6,819,752, 7,215,752, 7,391,856, 7,844,041). This infringement suit appears to be the first filed by Raniere and the first to assert the patents.
