NPEs Managed by IP Valuation Partners Launch Seven Litigation Campaigns in 2015
Since April 2015, seven NPEs managed by two partners at IP Valuation Partners LLC have collectively filed over 30 patent infringement suits against operating companies. Six of these NPEs were incorporated in Texas in 2015. (Gene Reader LLC was incorporated in Texas in 2014.) Each NPE is managed by IP Valuation’s Jason Bourgeois (a former patent agent trained in biomedical engineering) or Jonathan Szarzynski (a former patent licensing director at IPNav). Spangler Law P.C. represents all seven of the NPEs in litigation.

New NPE Asserts Patent Related to Tracking Website User Navigation
Expedia (2:15-cv-00534), LinkedIn (2:15-cv-00535), and Orbitz (2:15-cv-00536) are the first defendants sued by uLogin LLC. The Texas entity is asserting a single patent, which concerns tracking users as they move between webpages (5,712,979). Defendants’ websites are accused of infringement. The asserted patent originated with Infonautics Corporation and was transferred to a BTG International in 2002. In March 2015, following several assignments, it was transferred to Intellectual Ventures Assets 13 LLC and then assigned to IQ Holdings, LLC a few days later. According to the complaint, uLogin is the now the owner by assignment of the patent-in-suit.
