Preservation Technologies Expands Campaign against Digital Media Providers
Preservation Technologies filed five new suits as part of an ongoing campaign launched in December 2011. Preservation filed four new suits targeting media companies CBS Interactive, Fox Broadcasting Company, New York Times Digital, Target and Vimeo. The patents-in-suit were originally assigned to a Holocaust museum, Survivors of the Shoah, which later became the property of the University of Southern California. The patents were among 11 that were sold in a pre-auction sale by Ocean Tomo in March 2010 for $7 million and then subsequently exclusively licensed to Preservation. RPX acquired sublicense rights on behalf of clients in October 2012. 10/11 Delaware District Court, 1:13cv01689; 1:13cv01693; 1:13cv01692; 1:13cv0169; 1:13cv01690
