Method and apparatus for applying an anesthetic and bactericide
First Claim
1. An autoinjector syringe and endothermic gas anesthetic assembly comprising:
- a module which is removably attached to an autoinjector syringe barrel and which accommodates a canister having a pressurized gaseous anesthetizing composition, said module includes an elongated outlet nozzle for directing said gaseous anesthetizing composition to intersect with a delivery axis of a needle connected to said autoinjector syringe.

Abstract
A method and an apparatus for applying an anesthetic includes a receptacle having an upper end, a substantially hollow interior, a lower end having a tube or nozzle extending therefrom, and an attachment for attaching to the barrel of a syringe or vice versa. The receptacle receives a container or canister containing an endothermic gas or vapor (propellant) that rapidly absorbs heat when released to the atmosphere. A depressible actuating member or trigger propels the gas or vapor through an outlet nozzle that is oriented to project a stream of gas or vapor along a delivery axis that intersects a delivery axis of the needle, therefore, the gas or vapor can be successively delivered to an injection site with minimal repositioning of the housing.

17. A method of using an autoinjector syringe with an attached endothermic gas anesthetic assembly comprising the steps of:
-
placing the autoinjector syringe against an injection site; depressing a base portion of a canister containing compressed endothermic gas anesthetic, causing a valve assembly of said canister to be opened allowing the pressurized gaseous anesthetic to be directed through a nozzle to a skin injection site thereby numbing the skin injection site; pressing a thumb pad of the autoinjector syringe causing a medicine within the autoinjector syringe to be injected subcutaneously into the skin injection site; lifting the autoinjector syringe and the endothermic gas anesthetic assembly away from the injection site.
