1. A solid detergent composition comprising:
- about 20 to about 40 wt. % sodium carbonate;
about 15 to about 40 wt. % sodium hydroxide;
about 1 to about 40 wt. % of a surfactant; and
at least 0.2 to about 20 wt. % of a branched saturated fatty acid disintegrator or a salt thereof represented by the formula CH3(CH2)m(CR1R2)n(CH2)o(CR1R2)p(CH2)qCOOH wherein m, n, o, p and q are each an integer selected from 0-17, n+p is 1 or 2, m+n+o+p+q is between 3 and 18, R1 and R2 are independently a hydrogen or alkyl group with at least one being an alkyl group, and the total number of carbon atoms in the disintegrator is between 5 and 20;
wherein the solid detergent composition has a dissolution rate when exposed to 4000 mL of aqueous solution at 155°
F. of at least 30 g/minute and is free of halogen bleaching agents.

Abstract
A solid block or unit dosed detergent composition as described which can be utilized in a variety of applications for cleaning surfaces and objects, removing suspending soils, and rinsing easily. The detergent composition, when exposed to an aqueous solution such as water, dissolves quickly and completely to create the use solution.
