1. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device with a display and having one or more motion sensors, cause the device to:
- receive an indication of an event;
in response to receiving the indication, provide an event notification;
while providing the event notification, receive data, from the one or more motion sensors, representing movement of the electronic device and;
in response to detecting movement of the electronic device;
in accordance with a determination that the movement of the electronic device corresponds to movement of the electronic device satisfying a predetermined condition, wherein the predetermined condition includes a requirement that the electronic device is lifted to a lifted position and then remains in the lifted position for at least a minimum period of dwell time in order for the predetermined condition to be met, maintain the even notification while modifying the event notification; and
in accordance with a determination that the movement of the device does not correspond to movement of the electronic device satisfying the predetermined condition, maintain the event notification without modifying the event notification.
