First Claim
1. A droplet discharge device comprising:
- a liquid chamber which is in communication with a nozzle and to which a liquid material is supplied;
a plunger having a tip portion that is thinner than the liquid chamber and that is moved back and forth in the liquid chamber;
a piezoelectric actuator serving as a drive source that operates the plunger to be moved back and forth;
a lever mechanism that increases a displacement of the piezoelectric actuator;
a base having a mounting surface to which the piezoelectric actuator is mounted; and
a discharge control device is connected to the piezoelectric actuator,wherein the lever mechanism includes an arm that is operated to perform a swinging motion by the piezoelectric actuator, and a leaf spring including ends that are linked to a lower portion of the arm and to the base, and a plunger-linked portion in a central region thereof, andwherein the leaf spring causes the plunger to perform a linear reciprocating motion with the swinging motion of the arm.
