Abstract

A device for performing a cooperative function with another device is provided. The device includes a communication unit, and a controller that determines whether the other device is in a surrounding area of the device based a signal received through the communication unit, selects one cooperative function from among a plurality of cooperative functions according to a relative position of the device with respect to the other device and performs the selected cooperative function with the other device.

Claims

1. A method for performing a cooperative function, the method comprising:

determining whether there is another device in a surrounding area of a device; and

when it is determined that the other device is in the surrounding area, performing the cooperative function, by the device, with the other device according to a location of the other device,

wherein performing the cooperative function comprises synchronizing photos stored in the other device with photos stored in the device when the other device is in the surrounding area of the device.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:

determining the location of the other device by the device;

wherein the performing of the cooperative function comprises performing a first cooperative function by the device when it is determined that the other device is located in a first position, and performing a second cooperative function by the device when it is determined that the other device is located in a second position.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the performing of the cooperative function comprises performing the cooperative function when the cooperative function is preset.

4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the performing of the cooperative function comprises stopping a function that is being performed by the device and performing the cooperative function.

5. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the performing of the cooperative function comprises performing the cooperative function continuously even if the other device becomes distant from the device.

6. A device for automatically performing a cooperative function with another device, the device comprising:

a communication unit configured to determine whether the other device is in a surrounding area of the device; and

a controller configured to;

control the device to automatically perform the cooperative function with the other device according to a location of the other device when it is determined that the other device is in the surrounding area, and

synchronize photos stored in the other device with photos stored in the device when the other device is in the surrounding area of the device.

7. The device as claimed in claim 6, wherein the controller is further configured to perform the cooperative function if the cooperative function is preset.

8. The device as claimed in claim 6, wherein the controller is further configured to:

stop a function that is being performed by the device, and

perform the cooperative function.

9. The device as claimed in claim 6, wherein the controller is further configured to perform the cooperative function continuously even if the other device becomes distant from the device.

10. A system for automatically performing a cooperative function, the system comprising:

a first device configured to automatically perform the cooperative function with at least one device; and

a second device configured to;

determine whether the first device is in a surrounding area of the second device, and

when it is determined that the first device is in the surrounding area, perform the cooperative function with the first device according to a location of the first device,

wherein the first device synchronizes photos stored in the second device with photos stored in the first device when the second device is in the surrounding area of the first device.

11. The system as claimed in claim 10, wherein the second device is further configured to:

determine the location of the first device,

perform a first cooperative function when it is determined that the first device is located in a first position, and

perform a second cooperative function when it is determined that the first device is located in a second position.
