- a data processing apparatus coupleable to an energy harvesting electrical power source and capable of drawing power from the energy harvesting electrical power source when coupled,where when coupled to and drawing power from the energy harvesting electrical power source the data processing apparatus is capable to perform one or more of;
transmit data at a data transmission rate determined, at least in part, by the available output power of the energy harvesting electrical power source, the data processing apparatus configured in operation to enable a ratio of peak-to-average power consumption of available output power from the energy harvesting electrical power source used to transmit data to be minimized in order to maximize energy consumption of the available output power from the energy harvesting electrical power source per unit time; and
receive data at a data reception rate determined, at least in part, by the available output power of the energy harvesting electrical power source, the data processing apparatus configured in operation to enable a ratio of peak-to-average power consumption of available output power from the energy harvesting electrical power source used to receive data to be minimized in order to maximize energy consumption of the available output power from the energy harvesting electrical power source per unit time.
