1. A method comprising:
- receiving, from a first set of sensors, a first set of sensor data indicating a first activity performed by a user during a first time period;
calculating, based on the received first set of sensor data and the first time period, an energy expenditure point value;
receiving, from a second set of sensors placed on different portions of the user'"'"'s body, location data indicating a location of one or more sensors, of the second set of sensors, relative to other sensors in the second set of sensors;
determining, based on the data received from the first set of sensors and the second set of sensors, at least a first physical body posture of the user;
in response to determining that the user is in the first physical body posture, detecting, based on the received sensor data, a level of user inactivity during the first time period;
transmitting, based on the level of user inactivity, a first message indicating that the user is approaching a first inactivity threshold;
prompting, based on a duration of the detected level of user inactivity, the user to perform a second activity during a second time period;
receiving, from the first set of sensors, a second set of sensor data indicating the second activity performed by the user during the second time period;
recalculating, based on determining that the second set of sensor data satisfies an activity threshold associated with the detected level of user inactivity, the energy expenditure point value; and
transmitting, in response to a user request, an indication of the recalculated energy expenditure point value.

Abstract
Systems and methods are provided for calculating point values for users who participate in activities. An activity is first captured with a sensor. A processor classifies the activity by comparing a sensor signal to templates. Once the activity is classified, an activity factor is selected. Point values are then calculated as a function of the activity factor and duration of the activity.
