1. A method comprising:
- providing a device to a user, wherein the device is configured to couple with an electrosurgical instrument and comprises a first port for liquid intake and a second port for smoke intake, wherein the second port is positioned proximally to the first port along the device so that when liquid flows from the first port through a narrowing in the device, a Venturi effect is generated that enhances smoke intake at the second port, wherein the second port is positioned along the device so that it opens into the narrowing.

16. A method comprising:
-
coupling a suction device to an electrosurgical instrument so that a first port of the suction device configured for liquid suction is positioned towards a distal end of the electrosurgical instrument and a second port of the suction device configured for smoke suction is positioned proximally to the first port; generating a liquid flow through the first port and through a narrow portion of the suction device; and generating a Venuri effect that enhances a flow of smoke through the second port as a result of the liquid flow through the narrow portion of the suction device, wherein the second port is positioned along the device so that it opens into the narrow portion. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19)
