1. A catheter comprising:

  • an elongate flexible member;

    a longitudinal axis;

    a tip assembly including a proximal end and an electrically conductive electrode;

    an electrically nonconductive material connecting a distal portion of the elongate flexible member to the tip assembly;

    a first magnet having a distal end and a proximal end, the first magnet distal end spaced proximally from the proximal end of the tip assembly along the longitudinal axis by a first distance, wherein no magnet is positioned between the first magnet and the tip assembly proximal end; and

    a second magnet spaced from the first magnet along the longitudinal axis by a second distance, the second distance greater than the first distance, wherein the first magnet and the second magnet are responsive to an external magnetic field to selectively position and guide the electrode assembly within a body of a patient, and wherein no magnet is positioned between the first magnet and the second magnet.
