1. A method for a user equipment (UE) to perform a random access in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

  • transmitting a random access preamble to a network;

    receiving a random access response message comprising multiple random access responses from the network through a downlink shared channel (DL-SCH),wherein a size of the random access response message is not fixed,wherein the random access response message has a format of a medium access control protocol data unit (MAC PDU) comprising multiple header parts, each of the header parts corresponding to each of the multiple random access responses,wherein all the header parts are in a first part of the MAC PDU and all the random access responses are in a second part of the MAC PDU subsequent to the first part,wherein each of the multiple random access responses comprises TA (Timing Advanced) information and uplink scheduling information; and

    processing the received random access response message to adjust an uplink transmission time based on the TA information or to find A resource for an uplink transmission based on the uplink scheduling information.
