1. A method for detecting back-side force in a mobile device, the method comprising:

  • measuring, by a force sensor of the mobile device, force applied to a surface of the device, wherein the force sensor comprises a force sensing layer;

    detecting, by a touch sensor of the mobile device, one or more touch contacts, wherein the touch sensor comprises a touch sensing display layer adjacent to the force sensing layer;

    determining, by a processor circuit of the mobile device, whether the measured force correlates to at least one of the one or more touch contacts;

    in response to determining that the measured force correlates to the at least one of the one or more touch contacts, initiating, by the processor circuit, a front-side force specific action; and

    in response to determining that the measured force does not correlate to at least one of the one or more touch contacts, initiating, by the processor circuit, a back-side force specific action.
