1. An apparatus for sensing an object, comprising:

  • a layer of material; and

    a plurality of ultra-wideband, UWB, radio sensors integrated within the layer of material at various locations, wherein individual UWB radio sensors are to;

    receive first signals, which are UWB radio signals transmitted from a device attached to an object within a sensing distance of the layer of material, andtransmit second signals based on receipt of the first signals, wherein the second signals are used to determine by another device a location of the object relative to the layer of material.
