Touch-sensitive electronic apparatus for media applications, and methods therefor
First Claim
1. A method comprising:
- at an electronic device with a touch- screen and a processor;
displaying, on the touch screen, a graphical user interface that includes a plurality of media controls displayed on the touch-screen;
while displaying the plurality of media controls on the touch screen, detecting a gesture on the touch-screen at a location that corresponds to a respective media control of the plurality of media controls, wherein the gesture is a touch gesture; and
in response to detecting the gesture on the touch screen;
in accordance with a determination that the gesture meets first pressure criteria, performing a first media operation associated with the respective media control, wherein the first pressure criteria include a criterion that is met when a pressure from one or more finger contacts of the gesture on the display is less than a respective pressure threshold; and
in accordance with a determination that the gesture meets second pressure criteria different from the first pressure criteria, performing a second media operation associated with the respective control that is different from the first media operation, wherein the second pressure criteria include a criterion that is met when a pressure from one or more finger contacts of the gesture on the display is greater than the respective pressure threshold.

Abstract
Described herein are devices, methods and computer readable media that allow a device with a touch-screen to respond to different pressure inputs. For example, while the device displays a plurality of media controls on the touch screen, it detects a gesture at a location corresponding to a respective medial control. In accordance with a determination that the gesture meets first pressure criteria, the device performs a first media operation associated with the respective media control; and in accordance with a determination that the gesture meets second pressure criteria different from the first pressure criteria, the device performs a second media operation associated with a second media control that is different from the first media operation.
